As we boldly go into a new year at the University of Washington, your humble editors are making a few changes.
First, we’ll be saying goodbye to editor Dave Randall, who has been an important part of the AU family. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and also encourage him to constantly check his e-mail, as those of us left behind plan on pestering him with every small question that might come to our minds. Thanks for your invaluable expertise, Dave!
Second, that means we have an open editor position! We will happily accept applications from any and all students. Ideal candidates are lovers of literature and speculative fiction with a passion for producing quality work. Special consideration will be given to those with experience working with WordPress and Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Resumes and writing samples are not required but will be accepted with glee and mirth. If interested, e-mail a cover letter to email@example.com with “Editor Position” in the subject line. The position is unpaid (sorry—we’re a low-budget operation here) but great experience in writing, editing, and design. We’d love to have you!
And finally, we recognize that many of our former writers and readers are no longer on campus. We congratulate you on moving beyond the college campus and into the so-called “real world,” but we’d also like to keep you involved—therefore, AU will now be producing PDF copies of our issues, available for sale on our website (you’ll find the link in the header above) for the low, low price of $3. Past issues will be available soon as well at a discounted rate of $2.
We look forward to another year filled with robots, magic, and non-Euclidean geometry with you. Watch your e-mail for fall quarter’s issue theme (Issue X! That’s a big deal!) and any future announcements we might make.
Never give up, never surrender.
